Welcome to the 2nd Annual AWS Hackathon for Good. This year, we’ve teamed up with American Red Cross, National Institutes of Health, USA for UNHCR and Virginia Cyber Range to identify specific challenges facing each of these organizations today. If you’re passionate about applying your coding skills, come join us at the Washington DC Public Sector Summit, learn new skills, and build functioning prototypes to address those challenges.
How To Form A Team: Arrive between 8-9am and meet other hackers to create a team. Team may be no larger than 5. A great team should include some or many of these skillsets: front-end developer, back-end developer, devops engineer, architect, and project manager. Make sure to register here in advance.
Where To Go: Arrive to the Convention Center and pick up your AWS DC summit badge at registration. Then, follow signs to "West Salon I"
What To Prep: Make sure you've created an AWS Account before you arrive, so you save time. Don't worry, we have you covered with credits for every team member who comes to hack! We've created a Hackathon Quick-Start Guide with tutorials, tools, SDKs, and more to help you get started. Also, be sure to visit the AWS Developer Center. Join the Slack Channel.
How Judging Works: Judges will walk around and meet with all teams between 8-9pm. All final solutions must be uploaded to DevPost by 9pm EDT. Judges will then choose a top team for each challenge to present their demos on stage. Open to all AWS skill levels. Please bring your laptop!
